The Humpback is a sculptural tissue holder hand sculpted in raw concrete. Its rigid organic form was shaped slowly by hand, no two pieces are identical. Designed to sit on a desk, a bedside table, your dining area or your coffee table, and earn its place as an object worth noticing.

- The Grey Ink Lab seal is pressed into the base of every piece
- Natural variations in texture, weight, and tone are inherent to how it is made
- Wipe clean with a dry or barely damp cloth preferably micro fibre cloth
- Do not submerge in water or leave in standing moisture
- Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, they strip the sealer
- Surface may lighten slightly over years of use, this is natural ageing

Each Piece begins as a mould, shaped and refined over multiple pours until the form is right. Concrete is mixed by hand, poured slowly, and left to cure for 48 hours. What comes out is sanded, sealed, and pressed with the Grey Ink Lab seal at its base. No two pieces are identical. The irregularities in surface are not imperfections, they are the proof of how it was made.
How it's made.

Each form begins as a handmade mould — shaped, refined, and tested across multiple pours until the proportion feels right. The Humpback mould took eleven iterations.
Concrete is mixed by hand to a specific consistency and poured slowly. Trapped air is worked out manually. Each pour takes around 20 minutes per piece.
Each piece cures for a minimum of 48 hours before demoulding. Rushed curing causes cracking. The weight you feel when you hold it comes from this full cure.
Surface is hand-sanded progressively. The GIL mark is pressed into the base. A matte sealer is applied before polishing. The piece is photographed and inspected before packing.
Every piece is made after your order is placed . Allow 8-10 working days. This is not a delay, it is how we ensure wach piece receive the full time it needs to be made properly,
Surface texture, weight and tone vary between pieces. This is not inconsistency, it is the material itself. The photographs show one version of this object, yours will be its own.
Concrete is not static. Over time it responds differently to light, develops subtle tonal shifts, and settles into its environment. The piece you own in five years will look slightly different from the one you received not worn, just lived-in. This is what the material does when it's given time.
Every piece cures for atleast 48 hours before it is touched. This is what gives concrete its weight and density.
